The Purge

New year. New project, right? After returning all of the Christmas decor to their proper dwellings, I felt the need to organize. I went through all of our dresser drawers and removed any unwanted and forgotten items, to be donated to someone who will love them again. I found myself needing to maximize my spaces. I searched, ordered, returned, ordered other items, but I finally found a few needles in the haystack that I can share with you.

Starting with my undies and bras, I used a drawer organizer set from Amazon. They come in a four pack with different styles for each piece. Also, the set comes in different color options. I have dark bedroom furniture and went with the black version. I will warn you, the bra organizer is ideal for smaller or normal cup sizes. Being a DDD has its disadvantages, but I’m not complaining lol.

Drawer Organizers

I moved on to the closet where I placed this organizer. If you don’t have custom closet organizers then this might help you too.

Then on to the kitchen, I purchased a two tier sliding bin and a collapsible silicone dish rack from MadeSmart. My sliding bin has proven to be useful and I’ve stacked all my spices in them. But the dish rack has superseded all my expectations, and probably my favorite product of my finds. I actually found it at Home Goods but it’s also on Amazon. I’ve always had the metal trays and hated how they would rust, despite claiming they didn’t. This silicone is perfection. The color is a dark grey, blending into my stainless steel sink.

I hope one or more of these items proves to be helpful in your Purge month. Happy Organizing!

Plaid is absolutely perfect for any occasion. It can be casual and rustic in Buffalo. Or find business appropriate in Glen or Houndstooth. Tartan is my personal favorite right now, especially in white or red.

About Me.

About Me.

My name is Francesca and I am a Chicago girl living in Naples, Florida.  We traded the brutal winters for year round sunshine and palm trees, to raise our 1yr old boy, Sebastian, near my parents.

I grew up in an immigrant Italian household, where traditions, great homemade food, and fashionable style were a way of life.  My mom will be the first to tell you that as a 2yr old, I would pick out my own dresses, the matching hair accessory, and would only allow the fancy knitted socks from Italy to be worn on my feet.  Pants were not acceptable.  Clearly, my mom had her hands full with me.  Unfortunately for her, my Nonna, my mom’s mom, only encouraged me further by gifting me a Fendi baby sweater with an “F” embroidered on the side.  And so my love for great style began.

Fast forward to adulthood, I became a successful woman as a manager in a major airline, expressing my style both in and out of the terminal.

So why blog? Simply put, fashion and styling make me happy, and if expressing my style inspires one person in the world to do the same and be happy, then why not?
